Rasmala is an alternative asset manager offering funds, direct investments, and tailored investment solutions across Strategic Equity, Credit, and Real Estate. We focus on delivering strong investment performance across our range of products and services to a diverse investor base. Our investment offerings include open and closed-ended funds, separately managed accounts, and co-investments.

Investment Strategy

The Rasmala Real Estate Income Funds invest with the primary objective of generating secure income and some capital appreciation.

The vast majority of the properties in the portfolio are fully tenanted and income producing.

However, in order to secure assets at attractive entry valuations, the Funds often need to commit to purchase a property prior to its completion. In general, however, the acquisition of property under construction takes place after a tenant has already committed to occupy the premises.

The Funds invest in both Traditional (Offices, Residential, Retail and Industrial) and Alternative (Datacenters, Research Laboratories, Care Homes, Student Housing) real estate. In particular, the Funds follow certain megatrends to select their investments, to ensure that income is resilient not only in the short term but also over long periods of times.

Portfolio Construction

The Portfolios of the Rasmala Real Estate Income Funds blends both listed and private real estate investments to ensure liquidity and diversification.

Typically, listed investments do not exceed 20% of NAV which keeps the volatility of the Funds low but also may limit liquidity.

Private investments consist primarily of direct investments in properties selected and managed by Rasmala Investment Bank Limited. However, to the extend that the Funds wish to gain exposure to complex strategies, investments can be made in institutional direct property funds.

Co-investors typically will invest in the direct investments managed by Rasmala Investment Bank, however bespoke investments can also be structured in institutional direct property Funds.
